Kolkata: A gym trainer, Bidyut Dey alias Bittu, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly assaulting and attempting to rape a woman at his residence in Michael Nagar. Dey was taken into custody on Saturday following a complaint by the survivor. The woman alleged she was in a relationship with Dey for nearly a year. According to her, on Saturday evening, she and a friend visited Dey's home. She said Dey was inebriated, and tried to sexually assault her. When she resisted, he assaulted her physically. He also hit her friend. Cops arrested Dey from a gym where he was employed.
