TV9 Bangla holds Suswasthya, health awards & conclave

TV9 Bangla’s annual health initiative, Suswasthya Health Awards & Conclave enters its fifth year. Those that are life savers to society were recognised with awards, honouring the best of services that they have achieved and are still offering. This year, not only were the doctors honoured, those that have led society for their excellence in the field of research and innovation were also recognised.
The event was inaugurated by Amritanshu Bhattacharya, managing editor & business head, TV9 Bangla; Anirban Choudhury, consulting editor, TV9 Bangla; & Dr. (Prof). Sukumar Mukherjee, an eminent medical expert.
Two stalwarts, Dr Indra Sekhar Roy, a legend in ophthalmology and Dr Subrata Malakar, a pioneer in dermatology, were awarded for their extraordinary achievement under the Lifetime Achievement Award. For a significant contribution towards research in the medical and healthcare field, Prof. Suman Chakraborty, director, IIT, Kharagpur was felicitated. TV9 Bangla has created two significant award categories in the memory of Dr Subhas Mukhopadhyay, who was the creator of the first test-tube baby and Dr Kadambini Ganguly, the country’s first woman doctor.
These special honours were awarded to Dr Subhankar Chowdhury and Dr Geeta Ganguly Mukherjee respectively for their remarkable service in the field of medicine and healthcare. Department of gynecology and obstetrics of Calcutta Medical College received recognition for reinforcing the bond between natural birth processes and medical support systems.
Beyond the boundaries of medical professionals, TV9 Bangla also recognised those who promoted public consciousness of health and wellbeing through films. Filmmaker Kamaleshwar Mukherjee and actor Kaushik Ghosh were awarded for their impactful work in healthcare awareness and storytelling.
