Kolkata: A 25-year-old youth, Sheikh Kashed Ali, died after being hit by a van while crossing the road at Nazrul Sarani around 4.30 am on Monday. Locals alleged administrative apathy and blocked the road, leading to traffic snarls on Jessore Road. Protesters also vandalised a cop kiosk. Five persons were arrested. tnn
