Kolkata: Calcutta High Court on Wednesday turned down the plea by a senior resident doctor of the Midnapore Matri Maa Hospital to discontinue the investigation into the death of a newborn and a woman who had come for a Caesarian section. A case had been registered against the doctor following the incident on Jan 16, under sections of culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The doctor was accused of medical negligence. tnn
