Kolkata: The KMC has introduced a new advertisement policy for displaying hoardings and billboards across the city.
Mayor Firhad Hakim stated that a QR code would be mandatory on all hoarding displays. "Temporary advertisement displays are barred within a 15-m radius of Gariahat Crossing, Moulali Crossing, Shyambazar Crossing, Rashbehari Crossing and a few other intersections, except during the pujas," Hakim said.
Hakim also mentioned that no display of private and temporary hoardings would be allowed on Park Street and Theatre Road. "No advertisement boards will be allowed on any heritage structure in the city," Hakim said. Additionally, a structural stability certificate for private hoardings is to be provided from time to time, and only KMC will grant permission for the display of advertisements. tnn
