Woman held for robbing man she met on matrimonial site

Kolkata: A woman from Habra was arrested on Sunday for allegedly drugging and robbing a man she met on a matrimonial website. She had allegedly called him to a hotel near the airport earlier this month. On July 1, the man, Sudip Bose of Leningarh, New Barrackpore, went to meet the woman at a hotel near the airport's gate 2.5. According to Bose's complaint, the woman, who identified herself as Jia Singh, served him a cup of tea in the hotel room. Soon after he drank it, he lost consciousness. When he regained his senses, he found his wallet, phone, and other valuables missing.
The police said the accused's real name is Rama Sau. She was produced at the Barrackpore Sub-Divisional Court, which remanded her in judicial custody.
