Kolkata: The Calcutta High Court on Monday allowed the BJP to hold a rally — with 750 participants — from Sulekha More to Garia More between 4 pm and 7 pm on Aug 4.
Justice Tirthankar Ghosh also directed participants to keep one-third of the road free for traffic. Petitioners came to court seeking permission for the rally on Tuesday. State counsel Swapan Banerjee objected to such a rally on Tuesday. He also objected to a rally July 31 on the grounds that the President of India would be in the city on that day.
