Kolkata: Trinamool MPs on Tuesday said the Centre mishandled the events that followed Operation Sindoor and surrendered India's strategic narrative to the United States.
Speaking in the monsoon session of Parliament, Lok Sabha member from Jadavpur Saayoni Ghosh said, "Trump has claimed 28 times on social media since the ceasefire that he stopped the war. While our Air Force was destroying terror hubs, Trump went public with news of the ceasefire, leaving the entire country stunned.
"She went on to say that the Prime Minister lost the "battle of narratives" and argued that while military action may have been taken, the govt failed to clearly communicate if India triumphed over Pakistan in the global and national arenas.
Ghosh also questioned the Centre's internal security preparedness, asking, "If tourists and terrorists could reach there (where the terror attack took place), why couldn't the police and armed forces? What was intelligence doing?" She then went on to demand accountability for what she called a "grave security lapse.
"In the Rajya Sabha, MP Sagarika Ghose targeted Prime Minister Modi's remark that he had "sindoor in his veins". "We don't believe that. What runs in your veins is politics, not sindoor. If you truly had sindoor in your veins, terrorists wouldn't have been able to enter Pahalgam," she said.
