Bengal BJP to start forming district panels next month

Kolkata: Barely a month after electing a new state president, Bengal BJP will begin preparations to form district committees by early next month.
Central brass, including those overseeing Bengal, are likely to be in Kolkata during that period.
According to Bengal BJP sources, the names of 39 organisational district presidents were announced by April. However, the party waited to form district committees in these. In Bongaon, Barrackpore, Darjeeling, and Ghatal, BJP is yet to nominate a district president.
Bengal BJP netas are likely to meet on Friday to start the process. Morchas will also be formed. Bengal BJP President Samik Bhattacharya earlier indicated that there would be a balance between veterans and newcomers.
State BJP netas are also likely to discuss the issue of revising the electoral roll. "Rohingya, illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, double-entry voters and dead voters have to be deleted from the electoral roll. We have spotted fake voters already. We want a proper voters' list before polls are held in Bengal," state leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari said.
