Roshan GuptaSiliguri: A 45-year-old Chinese national was arrested by Border Interaction Team of ‘C' Company, 41st Battalion of the SSB, after he allegedly attempted to cross the India–Nepal border using forged documents on Monday. He was produced before the Siliguri court on Tuesday and was remanded in police custody for five days.
According to SSB officials, the incident occurred at the New Bridge in Panitanki — a key checkpoint along the border.
The accused was found carrying two Swiss passports, each issued under a different name — Khamritshang Tseten Gurme and Sengeytsang Karma Jimi. SSB officials also claimed he was in possession of a fake Nepali citizenship card.
"After medical examination the accused was handed over to Kharibari police station for further legal action," an SSB official said.
