12 Gaya: The parents of the woman doctor, who was raped and murdered inside the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on Aug 9, 2024, performed ‘pind daan' rituals for their daughter here on Wednesday. The rituals were performed at Shankracharya Math, the sanctum sanctorum of Vishnupad temple and Akshayvat.
Talking to reporters, the elderly couple expressed disappointment over the case investigated by the CBI. They urged Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar to "put pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to ensure justice for their daughter". "We have knocked on the doors of the administration and the govt many times, but the accused are still at large. Until all the accused are punished, the departed soul will not get peace.
" The couple demanded capital punishment for the accused.
The Sealdah court, on Jan 20, had sentenced Sanjoy Roy to life behind bars in the case.
