Kolkata: The KMC water supply department has been asked to expedite the construction of an water augmentation at Dhapa water treatment plant. Currently, the civic body is engaged in the construction of a 20 million gallon water plant to cater to the growing demand for potable water in several neighbourhoods that are located off EM Bypass. Mayor Firhad Hakim on Tuesday visited the Dhapa treatment plant. According to a KMC official, though Hakim expressed satisfaction over the effort to wrap up the construction, he asked the officials to expedite the construction process so that the plant could be made operational within the next eight months.
