ISKCON Mayapur is celebrating Janmashtami on 16 August, marking the 5252nd divine appearance day of Lord Sri Krishna.
The celebrations will continue the following day, 17 August, with a double festival: Nandotsav, the jubilant day when Nanda Maharaj joyfully announced the birth of Lord Krishna, and the 129th Appearance Day of His divine grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
Rasik Gauranga Das, public relations officer of ISKCON said that lakhs of visitors from India and abroad visit the temple during the celebrations, which follows the Jhulan Utsav at the same place.
