  • In a significant step towards resolving pension-related grievances of ex-servicemen and defence civilian pensioners, a SPARSH Outreach and Grievance Redressal Programme will be held at Bengdubi Military Station on 22 August. The event is being organised with the support of the Controller General of Defence Accounts, ministry of defence.

The programme, under the system for pension administration (Raksha) – SPARSH, aims to provide on-the-spot solutions to discrepancies in pension disbursal, documentation, and service records. SPARSH has already introduced a fully digital system for sanctioning and disbursing pensions to ex-servicemen, defence civilians, and their dependents.

All defence pensioners and dependents with pending issues have been urged to attend. Officials informed that participants must carry essential documents for verification, including Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank passbook, discharge book, PPO (pension payment order), and a SPARSH- and Aadhaar-linked mobile number, along with other relevant papers.

The outreach is expected to benefit hundreds of pensioners by creating awareness and ensuring quicker grievance redressal through direct interaction with officials, a senior Army officer said.
