Hwh youth falls to death from 3rd floor at Kurseong homestay

1234 Darjeeling: A 23-year-old youth from Howrah, Sapranil Chatterjee, who along with his friends had gone on a trip to the Hills, died on Monday morning after allegedly falling off the third-floor room of a homestay at Dowhill, around 3 km from Kurseong. Sapranil with five friends—four girls and a boy—had arrived in Kurseong three days ago. The group was scheduled to return to Howrah on Tuesday. "The incident took place around 5 am on Monday. Sapranil was taken to Kurseong Sub-Divisional Hospital, where doctors declared him ‘brought dead'. The body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem," said a police officer.
Additional SP Abhisek Ray said, "The father of the deceased reached Bagdogra. The post-mortem will be conducted at NBMCH on Tuesday, and we have requested for audio-visual footage. A requisition will also be sent for a team to visit the place of occurrence for further investigation. A case of unnatural death has been registered.
