Kolkata: The judiciary has taken a new initiative to extend legal support to serving and retired soldiers and army personnel and their families. District and sessions Judge Shantanu Jha, also the chairman of the District Legal Services Authority opened the centre at Barasat District Sainik Board near Kacchari Maidan in N 24-Parganas on Sunday. Commander Amit Paul, secretary, Barasat District Sainik Board and DLSA secretary Injamun Khan were present.
The legal aid centre is part of NALSA Veer Pariwar Sahayata Yojana 2025. Commander Paul said, "Serving and retired members of armed forces and paramilitary forces will get legal consultation and services free. The aim is to provide help in a dignified, and hassle-free manner.
" Ex-serviceman Ranjit Biswas said, "It will further strengthen the nation's security system.
