The Kolkata Municipal Corporation has identified seven wards under its limits as ‘vulnerable areas to dengue.’
The seven wards include wards 66, 67, 69, 70, 77, 93 and 108. The health wing of the KMC has also alerted the citizens of the roads in the wards that are vulnerable to the vector-borne disease. The roads are namely, Topsia Road, Picnic Garden Road and CN Roy Road in ward 66, Swinhoe Lane, Dr GS Bose Road, Sunny Park, Beltala Slum, Gangaprasad Mukherjee Road, Justice Dwarka Nath Ghosh Road, Dr Sudhir Basu Road, M M Ali Road, Dent Mission Road, Gobindapur, Lake Gardens, Rahim Ostagar Road and Gulshan Colony.
Likewise, the civic body had identified 11 wards as vulnerable spots for malaria.
Initially, the municipal corporation had identified 68 wards that could be vulnerable spots for dengue. “We have identified 68 more wards for malaria and have got reports from 20 wards,” informed Dr Atin Ghosh, deputy mayor of the KMC.
