Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata on Tuesday inaugurated a three-month campaign to Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, to be observed from 18 August to 17 November, in line with the directives of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
The inaugural programme was graced by Anindo Majumdar, administrative member, Central Administrative Tribunal, Kolkata Bench and former secretary, Central Vigilance Commission, as the chief guest.
This year’s campaign is being observed on the theme ‘Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility’.
In his keynote address, Anindo Majumdar congratulated the port for its journey towards excellence under the leadership of the chairperson, deputy chairperson, CVO and contributions from one and all. He underlined the importance of taking proactive steps and leveraging technology in preventive vigilance and highlighted the requirement of continuous analysis of systems and processes and improvements thereof, capacity building, and ethical conduct in ensuring good governance.
In his address on the occasion, Rathendra Raman, chairman of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata, emphasised that vigilance is not the responsibility of a select few but a collective duty of all employees.
