• PM Modi to inaugurate metro projects in Kolkata, infra works worth ₹13,000 crore in poll-bound Bihar

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-state visit to poll-bound Bihar and Kolkata on Friday, August 20.

    During his Kolkata visit, PM Modi will inaugurate several important metro rail projects and lay the foundation stone for the 6-lane Kona Expressway.

    The Prime Minister will flag off the Noapara-Jai Jind Bimanbandar metro service from Jessore Road, along with the Sealdah-Esplanade metro service and the Beleghata-Hemanta Mukhopadhyay metro service.

    A newly constructed 13.61 km metro network will be inaugurated, and services will be launched on these routes.

    PM Modi will also inaugurate a newly constructed subway at Howrah Metro Station.

    In Bihar, the Prime Minister will inaugurate several infrastructure projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore in Gaya, including the Aunta–Simaria Bridge on the Ganga, the NH-31 upgrade projects, and the Buxar Thermal Power Plant.

    The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital in Muzaffarpur and several Namami Gange projects aimed at cleaning the Ganga River and improving sanitation.

    Modi will also flag off the Amrit Bharat Express (Gaya–Delhi) and Buddhist Circuit Train (Vaishali–Koderma) and hand over keys to beneficiaries of PMAY housing schemes.
