Kolkata: Dilip Ghosh, former national vice-president of BJP, is unlikely to attend PM Narendra Modi's programme in Dum Dum on Friday as he was yet to get an invite.
"I have not yet decided whether to attend the PM's rally. I may not go and instead, attend some other work. Our party decides the programme I have to attend. It (the one in Dum Dum) is a government programme and I have not been invited," Ghosh said on Thursday.
Last month, Ghosh, also former president of Bengal BJP, skipped the Durgapur rally of Modi though he was invited to the programme.
Ghosh had said there were specific seating arrangements for the PM's rally, which is decided by the PMO. His seating position, he had said, might lead to unnecessary discussions and speculations. Instead, he had flown to New Delhi to meet the party's national president, J P Nadda. While Ghosh did not speak about his discussions with Nadda, speculations were rife over his role in the party.
If Ghosh attends the Dum Dum programme, he might be asked to sit among other party functionaries and that might attract controversies.
