  • Trinamul Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee has cautioned some leaders who are running parallel administration within the party.

“I have come across some party workers, who even do not know the symbol of the party and when I asked them they said they follow some party leader. I am not going to tolerate this. It is a party of Ma, Mati and Manush and our only purpose is to serve them. Anyone who is putting his self above the party will be thrown out,” she said.

She maintained that “the symbol of the party is most important. I am the chief minister because of the symbol. From panchayat leaders to the MPs, the symbol plays the most important role and one who disrespects the symbol is not our member.”

Miss Banerjee urged the party leaders to bury the hatchets and work to ensure the victory of the party. “Give up your own narrow interest and work for the party. It is a great opportunity to serve the people,” she said.

Miss Banerjee expressed her satisfaction over the Amader Para Amader Samadhan initiative. He urged party leaders and workers to build intense contact with people who will attend the programme.

Senior party leaders said, in view of the Assembly election scheduled to be held in 2026, Miss Banerjee has already asked them to pull up their socks and mentioned that no one should be complacent.

The leaders said Miss Banerjee has asked the leaders to launch a campaign against the financial deprivation of the Centre and make people aware of the schemes taken by the state government.

Two major issues for campaigning will be the attack and humiliation of migrant workers in BJP-ruled states. Miss Banerjee has announced a scheme called Shramashree meant for the migrant workers, who will come back to Bengal. She has asked party workers to intensify their campaign against the saffron party, who said that Bengali is not a language.

She reiterated that there will not be Special Intensive Revision of the voter list and assured to launch a movement if the name of a genuine voter is dropped from the voter list. She urged party leaders to intensify their vigil and thwart any attempt to conduct NRC through the backdoor.
