  • Jalpaiguri: Residents of Bangkandi village in Jalpaiguri's Maynaguri were horror-struck seeing a neighbour roaming around with an object dripping blood on Friday morning.

Ramesh Roy was holding a heart — his wife's.

Police said Ramesh, 52, suspected his wife Dipali, 45, was having an affair. The couple had a fight on Friday, during which Ramesh killed Dipali, dismembered her body and hid the parts under a bed in the house. He chose the bleeding heart to carry around. The villagers, terrified at the ghastly sight, ran away from Ramesh. Some of them later went to his house and found bloodstains all over the floor. | Gold Rates Today in Kolkata | Silver Rates Today in KolkataThey immediately alerted the local gram panchayat pradhan, who got in touch with Maynaguri police station. He was still carrying his wife's heart.
