Shramashree to now be part of Duare Sarkar, APAS camps

Kolkata: Migrant workers returning home from other states can enrol for Shramashree, Bengal's govt's welfare scheme for them, at Duare Sarkar camps. The decision was taken at a meeting of the labour department on Saturday.
The Duare Sarkar camps are being held at the same venues as the Amader Para Amader Samadhan (APAS) camps, which will continue till Nov 3.
Trinamool Congress MP and state migrant workers' welfare board chairman Samirul Islam, who attended the meeting, said the govt would run campaigns to popularise Shramashree in areas from where people move to other states in large numbers.
