Kolkata: Efforts are on to move a bail petition on Monday by Sunali Khatun and five other Indians languishing in Bangladesh's Chapai Nawabganj prison.
The six were branded as Bangladeshi nationals, picked up from Delhi and pushed to the neighbouring country through the Assam border last month. They were jailed after Bangladesh police labelled them illegal immigrants. Sunali is eight months pregnant.
Sk Arif, a social worker in Bangladesh, said they are trying to help the family with legal support. An advocate has spoken to the family, he said. The group of six, meanwhile, has been trying to reach out to the Indian govt to help them get back.

Sunali, Danish and Sweety worked as ragpickers.
Rocky Sk, Sunali's cousin, said they were using their best contacts to bring the arrested people back home. Md Rezaul Karim, the SP of Chapai Nawabganj, said only a court could now release them. He added that a probe against the six for infiltration is on, and after completion, a charge sheet would be submitted. Samirul Islam, Trinamool MP and chairman of the state migrant workers' welfare board, said he had filed a PIL in Supreme Court, and Sunali's case may be heard on Aug 29.
