• Regaal plans expansion with herbal gulal

  • Kolkata: Regaal Resources, a city-based manufacturer of maize-based specialty products, will start making herbal gulal alongside existing products such as gluten, germ, maize flour, icing sugar, custard powder and baking powder.

    More new natural starch-based products are on the cards, according to Anil Kishorepuria, chairman and managing director of the company.

    The company is investing around Rs 430 crore to double its production capacity from the existing 825 metric tonnes to 1,650 metric tonnes at its plant in Bihar's Kishanganj by the fourth quarter of 2026. | Gold Rates Today in Kolkata | Silver Rates Today in KolkataTo support the expansion and debt repayment, the company launched a Rs 210 crore initial public offering (IPO) on in the second week of Aug.

    "About Rs 314 crore of the investment will be capitalised in the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal while another Rs 116 crore in the first quarter of FY27. The expansion is being funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals," said Kishorepuria.

    The project qualifies for Bihar govt's state investment promotion subsidy, Kishorepuria said. The company has also set up a power plant to run the manufacturing unit in Bihar.
