  • Kolkata: Two cases of suicide, one by a young woman and another by a man, were reported from the Anandapur area on Monday. Police confirmed there was no connection between the two incidents.

Mousumi Mondal (21), a resident of Purba Panchannagram, was found hanging from the ceiling fan of her home. "It was her husband, Bipul Halder, who first saw her hanging. He cut the sari, brought her down and called the police," said an officer. "She was declared dead upon arrival at NRS around 9:15 am.

" A magisterial inquest and post-mortem were conducted, and an unnatural death (UD) case was registered at Anandapur Police Station.
