Kolkata: A 21-year-old BBA student was allegedly kidnapped, attacked, sexually assaulted and extorted of Rs 51,800 by two men in the Karaya area.
The accused — Rahim Ahmed and Sajid Zakir — have been arrested for the incident that took place last Saturday.
In his police complaint, the youth said he was near the Lohapool auto stand, when one of the accused approached him. The accused reportedly falsely claimed to have a leg injury and requested him for a lift on his scooter as his mother was ill back home. The accused directed the student to a multi-story building, claiming he would have to take money from someone. Once inside, the man and his accomplices overpowered the student, assaulted him, threatened him with a knife and forced him to transfer Rs 51,800 to an account.
He reportedly sent the money in two transactions of Rs 33,000 and Rs 18,800.
"I overheard the names, ‘Rahim' and ‘Zahid'," the victim said. He also claimed that the accused, who had met each other on a gay dating app, had forced him to sign on some documents and confiscated his mobile and scooter keys. The youth said he raised an alarm, forcing the accused to flee, following which he managed to escape.
"Two suspects are arrested. We are searching for others," said a police officer.
