  • Kolkata: Calculators, mobile phones, slide rules, electronic devices and wristwatches are prohibited in the examination hall for the second state-level selection test (SLST) scheduled to be held on Sep 7 and 14.

The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) issued an advisory for the invigilators, instructing them to separate answer sheets containing irrelevant pictures or anything else apart from answers. Invigilators have been asked to hand over such sheets to the venue-in-charge in sealed cover. SSC officials said final decision will be taken regarding such sheets after all OMR sheets have been recieved. A total of 5.8 lakh applications were submitted but 5.6 lakh candidates are likely to appear for the exam.

If any candidate is found carrying barred items, he or she will be disqualified immediately. Venue-in-charges have been asked to keep a sufficient stock of transparent blue or black ballpoint pens. All centers have been asked to keep a wall clock in each examination room.

An official said duplicate applications of the same candidates were cancelled. About 1,400 admit cards of tainted teachers were cancelled.
