  • Kolkata: Former Bengal minister Paresh Adhikari and daughter Ankita surrendered at an Alipore court on Wednesday in the teacher recruitment case and were granted bail against a personal bond of Rs 7,000.

The special CBI court was hearing arguments in the school cash-for-job case when Adhikari and his daughter stepped in and filed for bail. Along with the father-daughter duo, the court also granted bail to Debashree Sinha, wife of Shantiprasad Sinha, a former convener of SSC's advisory committee.

Ankita had lost her teaching job in May 2022 following a Calcutta HC order. There were allegations that she had got her job because of her father's influence. The court also ordered her to return the salary she had received .
