Amidst legal tangles over SSC tainted candidates, the commission today published the list of about 35,726 vacant posts for which examinations are scheduled on 7 and 14 September.
According to the commission, the highest number of vacant posts are in classes IX-X, where the examinations for recruitment would be held for about 23, 212 vacancies, while for the Classes XI and XII, candidates would vie for about 12,514 vacant posts.
Subject-wise, however, as SSC notification claimed that vacancies in geography would be the least in numbers for classes IX-X, while physical science for the same standard would require substantial recruitments to tide over the vacancies.
The list publication by the SSC today, according to the notification, had been done taking into account the 17 per cent OBC slab as specified by Calcutta High Court.
Though the commission had published the list earlier, it had run into OBC quota quagmire after the high court put a stay on the list on non- adherence to its guidelines.
