The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has announced a series of nationwide marathons to mark the birthday celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, the marathons will be held in 75 cities across India, with the participation of over five lakh youths. The initiative is aimed at promoting the twin themes of “Fit India” and “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India).
“These marathons will not only pay tribute to the visionary and youth-centric leadership of Prime Minister Modi but will also encourage millions of young Indians to adopt a healthier and more active lifestyle,” Bista said.
A preparatory meeting, chaired by BJYM national president Tejasvi Surya, was held on Friday to ensure the smooth organisation of the events across the country.
“We urge marathon runners, sportspersons, fitness enthusiasts, and young people from all walks of life to join this campaign and lend their support to the vision of a fitter, drug-free India,” Bista added.
