  • Chinsurah: Sinosur, Bengal's largest energy-efficient BLDC (brushless direct current motor) fans maker and seller, is expanding into three-wheelers and establishing a plant at Sugandha in Polba Dadpur block within the Chinsurah subdivision of Hooghly district, reports Falguni Banerjee.

Sinosur said it plans to produce electric cars as well and will unveil a prototype at the end of this year.

Santanu Ghosh of Sinosur, which will manufacture totos under the brand "Tifoz", said the move was a natural progression, as

also use controllers and motors similar to those used in fans. "Unlike other BLDC fan manufacturers, who import the controller and motor from China, we make them in-house. While the fans use a 28-45-watt motor, a toto requires a 750-1,200-watt motor," he said.

Former MP Kunal Ghosh, who was present at the unveiling of the toto, said, "This new factory will transform the economic landscape of the area, providing jobs to many unemployed youths," he said. The state govt will support the establishment of the factory, he added.
