• Cyber crooks dupe Salt Lake man of 3.6 lakh

  • Kolkata: A 44-year-old resident of Salt Lake, Anindya Bhattacharyya, lodged a complaint at Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police Station, alleging he lost Rs 3.6 lakh in an online job fraud.



    The incident took place on Dec 2, 2024, when fraudsters impersonated recruitment agents using multiple names and phone numbers, promising a job and collecting payments on different dates.

    Bhattacharyya paid the said money in multiple instalments before he realised that he was actually being duped.

    Bhattacharya finally lodged a police complaint on Friday.
