Kolkata: While no public meeting is officially scheduled for PM Narendra Modi during his two-day visit to Kolkata this month, Bengal BJP netas hinted that he could still hold a meet with them after his programme at Vijay Durg.
Modi's visit would have added significance in the backdrop of the volatility in Nepal, netas hope.
Modi will reach Kolkata on Sunday night and is scheduled to inaugurate the Combined Commanders' Conference on Monday. "There is no scheduled meeting. However, we generally get to talk to him after a govt programme is over and a number of issues are discussed. He keeps a close watch on the developments in the state," said Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya.
"Infiltration is one of the burning issues in the state. We might get a chance to discuss such issues with the PM," Bhattacharya added.
Reacting to this, TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said: "BJP netas visit the state like daily passengers before the polls. They look for an excuse to come here. We suggest they bring the overdue amount of Rs 1.9 lakh crore the next time they visit."
"However much they try, Mamata Banerjee is going to be elected the CM for the fourth time," Ghosh added.
