Kolkata: Five blocks in the Salt Lake Sector-I area will have reduced pressure of filtered water supply for five days from Wednesday till Sunday night. This is to allow the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation (BMC) to continue with the ongoing revamp and upgradation work of water tank no.

BMC officials said that work to reconstruct the top dome slab of the water tank, including removing the shuttering and plastering the top dome, will be carried out.
"Until Sunday, the distribution of drinking water supply will be done through direct online boosting instead of the overhead tank. Due to this, five blocks that receive water from tank no. 4—AE, BE, CE, AD, and BD—will experience reduced water pressure," said a civic official.
Normal water supply from the tank is expected to resume from Monday onwards.
