Kolkata: For the first time, the Regional Passport Office, Kolkata, has announced that a special passport mobile van camp that will be held at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, Mohanpur, Nadia, on Sept 16 and 17.
According to the release, 40 appointments under the normal category were made available for the camp. Applicants can book their slots online through the official portal www.passportindia.gov.in. Only fresh and re-issue passport applications under the normal category will be accepted and processed at this camp.
Applicants are required to carry their application reference number (ARN) sheet along with all necessary documents, including proof of address, date of birth, and educational certificates — both original and self-attested copies.

Highlighting efforts to make the process more efficient, the release also encouraged applicants to use the DigiLocker app for document submission while filling out the online application form. This, regional passport officer Ashish Middha said, would help speed up verification and processing.
He further clarified that only applicants who successfully obtained appointments for the specified dates via online booking will be entertained. Walk-in applications will not be accepted. The camp is expected to help applicants from Nadia and adjoining districts by reducing the need to travel to Kolkata for passport services. Middha urged eligible citizens to book their slots at the earliest.
