Kolkata: A woman in Rajarhat lodged a police complaint against a delivery person, accusing him of threatening and assaulting her after she lodged a complaint against him on an e-tail platform for not delivering a product she ordered for more than a week.
No arrest has yet been made.
According to the complaint lodged at the Airport PS, the woman claimed she ordered a beauty product from a beauty, fashion, and wellness app. Despite calling the assigned delivery person on multiple occasions, he did not deliver the consignments.
Police said the woman raised the issue with the company, following which she claimed the delivery executive first abused her over a call. "He came to my home with seven-eight people on Sept 12, at a time when my husband was away.
They assaulted me, tore my clothes and threatened to kill my husband before neighbours came to my rescue," the woman said in her complaint.
Police have started a case of molestation, criminal trespass, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation, among other BNS sections.
The accused denied to TOI the allegation of assault but admitted to abusing her in a fit of rage. "The woman has a habit of buying multiple items and returning them," the man said.
