Kolkata: Twenty-three candidates were detained in Barrackpore on Monday after allegedly being caught using Bluetooth-enabled devices during an Army recruitment exam for Group C (tradesmen) posts.
The invigilators at Kendriya Vidyalaya School in Barrackpore Cantonment confiscated the gadgets from the examinees and informed Barrackpore Police. A preliminary inquiry revealed that 21 of the accused were from Haryana and two were from Uttar Pradesh.
The accused were produced in the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court in Barrackpore on Monday.
"The devices confiscated by the invigilators have been seized," said Indra Badan Jha, DCP (Central), Barrackpore.
