TCPL to pass on tea price reduction benefits to consumers

Kolkata: Tata Consumer Products Limited (TCPL) will pass on the benefits of lower tea auctions to consumers, the company's president of packaged beverages, India and South Asia, Puneet Das, said on Tuesday.
Speaking at the launch of Tata Tea Gold's limited edition festive packs for Durga Puja, Das said, "We are passing on the benefits to the consumers. It will be reflected in Q3."
He added the launch that TCPL's packaged beverages are sold through both general trade and e-commerce routes. "When prices come down, sales volumes grow. Generally, low-priced packs sell more, but, this time, we also expect higher-priced packs to gain. A lot of premiumisation is happening in e-commerce," he added.
Currently, 80% of TCPL's tea sales come from the general trade route.
