Bengal fin & municipal secys face contempt rule over contractor’s dues
Times of India | 23 September 2025A division bench of justices Rajasekhar Mantha and Ajay Kumar Gupta directed the personal appearance of the two senior officers on Nov 3 to explain what prevented them from complying with the court's order.
The contractor had moved court over his outstanding bills, saying that he didn't get payment for work done despite having a valid tender since 2010. The HC's single bench and division bench had earlier directed the municipality and the state to make the payment.
