The Bharat Sevashram Sangha felicitated two competitors, Bhaskar Goluyi and Dipanita Sapoyi, both from Joynagar–Panchala in Howrah, who won gold medals in their respective age-group categories at an international yoga competition organised by the International Yoga Sports Federation (IYSF).
International yoga sports championships are organised by various global federations, such as the International Yoga Sports Federation (IYSF) and the Universal Yoga Sports Federation (UYSF). These championships aim to promote and regulate yoga as a competitive sport, focusing on criteria such as posture execution, strength and flexibility within a structured format with standardised rules and judging. They attract participants from across the world, provide a platform for identifying yoga talent, and help foster unity and global awareness of yoga’s potential as a sport.
Mahadevananda Swami of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha said: “We are delighted at the success of the two competitors from Howrah district in the yoga competition.”
