The South Eastern Railway (SER) also announced night Puja Special local EMUs for the upcoming festive period.
The zonal railway is to operate six special trains to cater to the Puja rush from 27 September to 2 October. The special services would be run from Howrah to various routes, including Panskura, Mecheda and Amta with stoppages at all the stations en route. According to the SER, the Panskura Local would depart at 12.50 a.m. and the Mecheda local would depart at 1.15 a.m. Similarly, the Howrah-Amta local would depart at 1.30 a.m. from Howrah.
Apart from the special night trains, the SER has also decided to provide stoppages of all galloping EMU/MEMU trains at all stations en route and at all passenger halts during the five days of the festival.
As learnt from the SER office, the zonal railway would temporarily cancel the services of some of the local EMUs in day time, during the peak festive days between 28 September and 2 October. The cancelled trains include 38105/6 Howrah – Uluberia, 38303/38312 Howrah – Mecheda, 38417/38434 Howrah – Panskura, 38911/38916 Santragachi – Amta, 38421/38436 Howrah – Panskura, 38313/38308 Howrah – Mecheda, 38445/38408 Howrah – Panskura and 38103/38104 Howrah – Uluberia local trains.
