  • Kolkata: While the Alipore weather office did not record any rain in the city on Monday, Met officials have not ruled out thundershower activities in the next few days. Even though there is no major weather system to trigger heavy rain, an active monsoon flow is likely to bring sporadic rain.

On Monday, the maximum and minimum temperatures, at 29.5°C and 25.4°C respectively, were 3.3 and 0.4 notches below normal. The temperature is likely to remain comfortable for now.

"While there is no chance for heavy rain in the city, thunderstorm activities will continue in Kolkata and South Bengal pockets in a sporadic way," said H R Biswas, head at RMC, Kolkata.

On Monday, pockets in districts like South 24 Parganas, Hooghly, Burdwan, and Nadia received a few spells of thundershower activities. tnn
