30 hours on, Kolkata student still missing
Times of India | 7 October 2025On Monday, Himadri's elder brother Priyobrato and friend Sayan Das received a video of a young man struggling against the strong river current.
Both believe the person is Himadri.
"I am sure it's Himu. He'll come back," said Sayan. "He told me, ‘I'm fine, take care of yourself,' — that's the last thing I heard from him," said Himadri's mother Shukla.
The district administration has been informed, but officials have refrained from commenting. GTA deputy chairman Rajesh Chauhan said all efforts were on to locate him. Diamond Harbour SP Bishop Sarkar said they were coordinating with OCs of Parulia and Sukia.
