Jalpaiguri: There is no let up in attacks by wild boars in flood-hit north Bengal zones.
After two men were killed on Tuesday and Wednesday in wild boar attacks in Cooch Behar's Mathabhanga, eight more people were injured in wild boar attacks in Jalpaiguri's Dhupguri on Friday.
While three were injured in Bamantari village, five were injured in Madhya Khuttimari village. The same boar, which first attacked three in Bamantari and then, on being chased, fled to Madhya Khuttimari, attacked five other villagers there.
Foresters suspect the animal was swept away from Gorumara in the strong currents of Jaldhaka.
"The incidents on Friday were reported from villages and not river banks as were the cases in Mathabhanga. We have successfully pushed the wild boar into the Moraghat forest tract," a forester said.
