ED wraps up 20-hr search at Sujit Bose’s office, son’s resto

Kolkata: The
(ED) team conducting searches at state fire services minister Sujit Bose's office and his son's restaurant completed the exercise Saturday morning, after nearly 20 hours.
The searches were part of the agency's investigation in the municipal jobs scam case.
Bose, who was in his office following the search, maintained that this was an attempt by the agency to target
netas.
The ED had earlier said it was investigating recruitments at South Dum Dum municipality, where it had found that 19 people were allegedly recruited in a single day in 2020. The agency has raised questions on the process employed to make these recruitments as well as 300 others.
Investigators said they believe Ayan Sil, accused in the municipal jobs case, made these recruitments possible in exchange for money. It was to discover the trail of money that the ED searched Bose's office and his son Samudra's restaurant.
Bose said, "Central agencies will conduct more such searches against Trinamool netas as the elections get closer. I have not objected to any search."
