Kolkata: Dhunseri Group chairman CK Dhanuka has resigned from the Indian Tea Association (ITA) and the Tea Association of India (TAI). In a statement, Dhanuka said that he would dedicate his time and resources to champion the cause of small tea growers and plantation workers, whose distress has been deepening due to structural issues in the tea sector.
"I have decided to take leave from the ITA and the TAI until the agony of small growers is resolved," he said.
