• Odisha CM speaks to survivor’s mother, DCP was present during crime reconstruction

  • Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha called upon the mother of the victim today over phone and had assured that the state government will create pressure on all fronts.

    The CM spoke to the mother of the victim and took health updates of the second year MBBS student and said that the state government will provide all support. He also asked her whether she has been able to talk with the members of the national women’s commission.

    The victim’s mother said that the CM assured her maximum punishment of the guilty and said that extreme pressure will be created so that the culprits get maximum punishment.

    Today, the deputy commissioner of police (DCP) East, Abhisekh Gupta along with one of the accused visited the jungle and the path through which the victim was forcibly taken away and tried to reconstruct the scene with him.

    Sources said that the other four accused will also be taken to the place of occurrence (PO) for reconstruction of the crime scene.

    Police has took two of the accused, Sheikh Riazuddin and Sheikh Nasiruddin alias Samrat to their respective homes in the nearby village and seized the clothes which they were wearing on that night. The clothes will be send for FSL testing and will be a key evidence in this case.

    The friend, who accompanied the survivor out of the hostel, was also taken to the crime scene by the police.

    Huge police force camped in the wooded area at the back side of the medical college in Shovapur of Durgapur. Sources said that police will take two different accounts from the accused and the survivor’s friend and then will match their statements.

    Last night, senior cops of ADPC, including CP, DCP, ADCP and ACP of ADPC have repeatedly interrogated the accused all night. They have been sent to 10 days police custody for further investigations.
