Suri: Two assistant sub-inspectors from Md Bazar police station in Birbhum have been suspended for allegedly taking bribes from truck owners. Birbhum SP Amandeep said on Wednesday that a complaint by the Truck Owners' Association was received on Tuesday and a preliminary probe confirmed the charges.
Amandeep said such misconduct would not be tolerated. The Birbhum district police said that a departmental inquiry was underway and appropriate legal action would follow.
