On Tuesday morning, the Diamond Harbour MP visited Boro Maa Kali Puja in Naihati and offered puja and conducted aarati. The puja is thronged by many devotees from across the state. Abhishek was accompanied by Mr Partha Bhowmick, Trinamul Congress MP. Mr banerjee prayed for harmony, well being and greater god of society.
Mentioning his visit at Baro Ma puja, Abhishek wrote: “Each year, as part of a cherished tradition, I visit the revered temple of Boro Maa in Naihati to offer my prayers and seek her blessings. This annual visit is a moment of inner reflection, reaffirming my faith in the values of compassion, service, and collective strength that define our people.
“Today, as I paid homage to Boro Maa, interacted with the devotees, and exchanged festive greetings, I was once again reminded of the unshakeable faith that binds us together. The devotion in every heart, the hope in every prayer, and the light in every smile embody the true spirit of Bengal, one that is ever united in faith.
“May Boro Maa’s divine grace continue to guide us all towards harmony, well-being, and the greater good of society.”
Trinamul Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee also attended the Kali Puja at his aunt’s place in Kalighat (Harish Mukherjee Road) on Monday night. Abhishek attends the puja every year and this year was no exception. He also visited Lake Kalibari to offer prayers there.
He later wrote on X: “Yesterday, on the auspicious occasion of Kali Pujo and Diwali, I had the privilege of joining the annual worship of Maa Kali at our residence in Kalighat.
“The gathering of devotees and well-wishers from across the state added to the sanctity and joy of the occasion. In the luminous glow of the festivities, I offered prayers for a society free from hatred, malice, and negativity. May the light of the lamps dispel darkness and illuminate the hearts of every resident of Bengal, filling their lives with peace, harmony, and prosperity.
“I also convey my warmest wishes in advance for Bhai Phonta, Chhath Puja, and Jagaddhatri Pujo, hoping that these celebrations bring joy and unity to every household.”
